Welcome to my WyzAnt profile, and thank you for your interest! Here I have the opportunity to give you a brief overview of my academic credentials, my experience tutoring and teaching, and my overall approach as a tutor.
I graduated from the United States Naval Academy in June, 1977, with a Bachelor of Science in Physics. I attended Naval Nuclear Propulsion School and Naval Nuclear Prototype Training - trained on Naval Nuclear Reactors. I served as a Division Officer aboard Fast Attack Nuclear Powered Submarine USS Flasher (SSN-613)where I qualified as Engineering Officer of the Watch on the Submarine Nuclear Reactor Plant and Officer of the Deck Surfaced and Submerged - Qualified in Submarines.
I worked 30 years for Southern California Edison as a Nuclear and Mechanical Engineer and as a Nuclear Training Instructor at the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station. My last 12 years of employment with Southern California Edison was with the Nuclear Training Division in Engineering Training. My major training focus was on applied mechanical engineering, applied electrical engineering, applied nuclear engineering, applied physics, applied chemistry, and applied material science. All these subject areas are important for the design, operation, and maintenance of a Nuclear Power Plant.
Though I'm still relatively new to WyzAnt, I have been facilitating classes, teaching, and tutoring for over 12 years at the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station. My job function as a Nuclear Training Instructor was to facilitate classroom training in an adult learning atmosphere. I have provided one-on-one tutoring and small group training on numerous occasions. I worked part-time as a tutor for high school students on Chemistry and Mathematics.
I am willing to tutor in Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Chemistry, Physics, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Differential Equations, and Mechanical Engineering subjects such as Heat Transfer, Fluid Flow, and Thermodynamics. Just let me know how I can help you.
If you're in doubt as to whether I teach a certain subject, just ask!
