I have been writing for as long as I can remember. I took as many English courses during high school as I could, excelling at Creative Writing. I completed a writing refresher class several years ago, aced my college English class, and am currently enrolled in a grammar refresher class. I have worked as a Bank Teller, Call Center Trainer, Harbor Master's Office Manager, Facilities Coordinator, Massage Therapist, and even spent time in the NAVY. The one common thread I found in all of my jobs since high school (1996) is that excellent written communication stands out everywhere you go. Whether on a resume or an email, typos, run-ons, misspelled words, etc., will affect your credibility. But it's hard to catch everything when you've been staring at a paper for long hours, and it's hard to clarify your point when you're tired. Not to mention, writing isn't everyone's strong point, and sometimes what really matters is getting the assignment done on time. This is where I would like to help. I have an eye for common mistakes, misused vocabulary, and I'm also good at making a clear point without being wordy. Beyond my own writing interests, I assist small businesses with polishing up their blogs and website content. I have also edited stories for publication. My fee is negotiable, so please do not be shy in asking for help.
