My educational background includes a B.A. in English from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and an M.A. in Communications from American University in Washington, D.C. On top of that I have five years of experience as a newspaper reporter and more than 10 years as a public relations writer for a major corporation. This translates to real world experience in written communications.
I can help students learn to use outlines to better structure English (and other) papers, to write clearly and concisely, and to explain complex subjects in simple terms. My tutoring approach is to provide direct feedback to writings to show how to improve them.
