Ruth is a caring, creative and calm, yet enthusiastic, educator with a firm background in the sciences. She strives to incorporate hands on explorations that teach lessons that are not only challenging enough to be memorable and interesting, but rewarding enough to build confidence.
Solid learning is of great importance, since students are often preparing for careers that have not yet been conceived. Individuals that push the envelope of learning beyond simple mastery will be more adaptive and successful in the increasingly competitive global market.
Ruth has tutored students in subjects ranging from reading to gifted math to the sciences, and has taught elementary, middle school and high school science. Ruth has extensive experience in government and private research laboratories. She has co-authored peer-reviewed journal articles and has published drawings, photographs and micrographs in technical and scientific publications
Ruth is certificated in Electron Microscopy from San Joaquin Delta College, holds her Bachelor of Science degree in Botany from the University of California, Davis and her teaching credential from St. Mary’s College of California.
