Thank you for taking the time to review my profile. I truly feel that as educators, we are given the opportunity to change lives in a positive way. I welcome the opportunity to be a role model for success in a high energy atmosphere that shows students that learning can be not just valuable, but fun as well. Besides my regular position as an English teacher, I have also taught Adult Education night classes at a local alternative education facility, and have worked as a tutor for various organizations. During the past ten years as a Language Arts instructor for various school districts, I have had the opportunities to work with children and adults of all ages and abilities. Being a highly versatile educator, I have had many opportunities to instruct a wide variety of students from various backgrounds and all facets of society. As a result of my experience, I am a compassionate teacher who remains sensitive to all of my student’s unique needs. In my classroom, I regularly employ effective, diversified instruction, as well as consistent positive encouragement and reinforcement to keep my students motivated and focused.
One of the most effective ways that I assist my students is by developing and presenting comprehensible and stimulating lesson plans that facilitate all learning styles. I regularly research, locate, and incorporate a variety of resources to accommodate my students via visual, audio, tactile, and kinesthetic methods. I also pride myself on my sense of humor, and have learned that a little bit of humor goes a long way in regard to fostering a positive rapport with my student. My goal as an educator is to foster and maintain an open, honest, communicative and supportive classroom, in which each student feels safe, secure, special, and stimulated.
