You want an experienced, highly educated tutor, who makes learning worthwhile and engaging while ensuring that you achieve your best.
I am here to help.
My experience in both business and education sectors is extensive, dates back over twenty years and has been recognized as both innovative and highly effective. My professional teaching career began in Japan once I graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara (B.A., History, 1990). In Osaka, I taught English as a foreign language for two years. Following my stint in Japan, I attended Stanford University to obtain my M.A. in Education in 1993 and received my teaching credential and secondary level teaching authorizations. Following Stanford, I taught in Northern California schools for 5 years for grades 7 to 12 before getting involved in ONLINE EDUCATION training and curriculum design as the Director of Teacher Training for the Intel Foundation and Coordinator of Teacher Training for UCSC Extension classes for educators.
Following my role as the original lead project director and administrator of what is now known as Intel’s critically acclaimed Teach to the Future initiative I entered the high tech field working for some of the largest technology companies in the world such as Intel, NEC and SAP. Seven years ago I co-founded a business and have served as a consultant to non-profits, schools and universities across the country. For the past two years, I have conducted private consultations and taught ONLINE CLASSES at American University of Health and Science in Long Beach, CA and taught in LBUSD K-12 classrooms on temporary assignment.
I have developed recognized curriculum across disciplines and taught Core (Language Arts and World History) to 7th graders, History (World Cultures, World History, U.S. History) World Cultures to 9th-12th graders, Computer Science and Japanese as a Foreign Language(1-2, 3-4) as elective subjects to grades 9 through 12th. I have also worked with elementary school children to improve study habits and test strategies.
I have served as the National Sales Director overseeing 42 people in my division as the Business Development Executive for NEC's Educational Software Solutions which led to the installation of the software in over 180,000 computers in more than 5,000 schools.
I have devoted both time and resources to private schools and in non-profits which specialize in programs devoted to student success in and after school. I have served as a volunteer Board Member for a private school as well as a Council Member for a non-profit after-school Martial Arts Program that worked closely with the Santa Ana Unified School District. I identify with the vital mission of private schools and believe highly in them.
I have been a part-time university level instructor for many years. I am more than happy to customize lessons that will fit your needs and requirements for any subject or Test Preparation exercise. I appreciate your consideration of my qualifications and look forward to the earliest opportunity to meet and discuss your educational goals.
