I am a retired PhD Analytical Chemist, with an emphasis on instrumentation. I have lots of experience in math, physics, electronics, optics, mechanics, etc, and of course, chemistry. I've led numerous projects in Hewlett Packard and Agilent Technologies, so I know how to organize and deliver. In industry, you learn how to be efficient, on time, meet deadlines, and meet your manager's expectations. I plan to do just that with my students.
In my work history, I've trained technicians and ESL students on assembly and calibration procedures, which requires lots of patience and an understanding what's not 'getting across'. I've worked with highly educated and technician-level trained peers.
For the younger students, I've spent numerous summers teaching cub scouts how to earn their badges and patches. I've helped high school students with math and AP Chemistry. I try to make learning interesting with real-life examples, a dry-ish sense of humor, and a fully supportive approach to your learning.
