I graduated with my master's in Clinical Psychology and a bachelor's in English Literature. I spent much of my undergraduate free time tutoring other college students by proof-reading their papers for courses in English, Political Science, and Philosophy. In high school, I served as a tutor at a learning center for grades K-12, assisting with subjects such as Reading, English, Elementary Mathematics, History, Algebra, and Science. Finally, I am also qualified to assist with biblical studies as I completed several Theology courses during my graduate studies.
My teaching style is balanced: relaxed and encouraging, yet focused. Moreover, I believe that tutoring is an opportunity for me to empower the student by gently guiding him/her to understand more than just correct answers, but learning how we came to specific conclusions. If a student struggles with grasping a concept, I believe it is the tutor's responsibility to find creative alternatives to effectively elucidate a subject matter.
