My name is Gladys and I, more than anything, would love to help you!
I currently a junior at the University of San Francisco majoring in sociology and minoring in ethnic studies.
I have tutored for the past three years and have worked with high school students and fifth and sixth graders as well. Up until this point all of my tutoring has been volunteer work, because I have the natural drive to help others and my belief that education is extremely important for everyone.
This past summer I was a peer mentor at the National Hispanic University. As a peer mentor, I demonstrated positive college behaviors, lead academic workshops (study skill tips, scholarship research, etc.) and organized/led study groups. The students I worked with were incoming freshmen, so I was more than happy to share my study skills.
My philosophical belief is that not everyone can fit into one mold, and I incorporate this belief into my tutoring by working with my tutee and not against him or her.
I look forward to hearing from you!
