My teaching experience began in 1997. I possess a BA degree in Spanish from UC Santa Barbara, prior to acquiring a teaching credential at San Jose State University. To acquire fluency in Spanish, I studied for a semester in Mexico City at a university.

In addition to student textbooks, I believe in utilizing supplemental learning materials to enhance the cognitive process. Not only have I instructed basic and advanced levels of Spanish, I have done extensive work teaching ESL, accent reduction, English, and writing.

Grammar

English grammar involves neutered indefinite and definite articles (a,an;the), although the nouns can be singular or plural. They always consist of singular adjectives. This structure is contrary to almost all other languages. I am sure I can help your child better understand reading, grammatical, and writing skills. In the area of tutoring, most of my experience has been with high school students.

Reading

As English varies from other languages, one's understanding of the differences is the solution to the structure of sentence construction. There are difficult concepts contingent on memory; however, with patience, my learners can grasp necessary models. I am sure my essential teaching abilities will ensure success.

ESL/ESOL

I began teaching ESL in 1999. I taught adults English as a Second Language at a school district for two years. In 2001, I was offered the opportunity to be a language trainer for a private language company. At this firm, our client base was corporate. Having left this agency after two years, I pursued private tutoring until 2005.
