I am professionally trained as an attorney and educator. I hold professional certification in Social Science in Florida, Language Arts in Georgia, and multiple-subjects and Social Science in California.
I've taught every grade level from Kindergarten through 12th grade, as well as undergraduate and MBA students. Most recently, I've taught Kindergarten Humanities, Middle School US History (including I.B.), and high school Social Studies including Economics, Government and U.S. History.
I teach U.S. History as a discipline and train my students to think like historians based on the foundation of Stanford University's Reading Like A Historian research-based curriculum. I've been extensively trained in preparing students for the mandatory U.S. History exams in Florida, and achieved successful passage rates with my 11th grade classes for the first implementation of the exam during the 2012-2013 school year.
In my classes I also implemented the Street Law program and worked with law students to introduce my high school students to critical thinking and the practice of law. As an instructor, I have sought to influence student improvement through good teaching, critical thinking, discussions, the use of technology, and assessments. I've also enjoyed teaching undergraduate and MBA students in courses such as business law, employment law, and ethics.
In my work as an attorney, I have been responsible for the business and legal affairs of individuals and entities in the entertainment industry, and have facilitated complex transactions in commercial and residential real estate.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
