I had been a research scholar, in the field of energy and environment where I used my insight of economics to study environmental problems. When I became a mother, I left the field of research and began volunteering in my children’s school. As a parent volunteer in my children’s school I have worked with students in all grades from Kindergarten to 8th grade in student led centers and have also worked with students with special needs.
Being part of a parent participation school, I also got the opportunity to be an active member of the Technology Committee, Grants Committee and the Field Trip Research Committee for the Discovery Charter School. Most recently I also got an opportunity to conduct the Junior Achievement program in K-5 classes and also tutor ELL students from second and third grade.
I discovered the passion of teaching while volunteering in my children’s classroom and by helping and aiding the students in small centers. This led me to pursue my Masters in Education from Jones International University. By pursuing a career in teaching I want to help my students achieve academic success and develop a lifelong passion for learning. As a teacher I hope to lay a strong academic foundation in my students’ life by capturing their imagination and interest.
I am goal oriented, dedicated, with a passion for learning, flexible aptitude to accommodate the diverse learning styles and needs of the students.
