Unlike Adobe Photoshop (a raster based app), Adobe Illustrator is a vector-based application that allows artwork to be output at almost any size. The limitations of how large artwork can be printed are mostly based on the output device, rather than the application. However, there are issues that can occur, if the artist is not aware of the idiosyncrasies of the application. With over 30 years of experience in the graphics field, I am qualified to help you learn how much fun and rewarding Adobe Illustrator can be.
As a graphic artist/designer, I use Adobe Photoshop quite extensively in my work. I have taught beginning and intermediate Photoshop classes at West Valley College as well as at the high school level. I can teach you how to; resize pictures, colorize images, restore old family photos, add custom text effects and a whole lot more...
As my profile states, I have been involved in the graphic arts/design field for over 30 years. And, with all that experience comes a very strong background in output production techniques, ranging from; silk-screening, wide-format printing, off-set printing, ink-jet printing, digital photo output, embroidery, large format fabric printing, CNC routing and desktop publishing. If you need assistance with printing from your Mac or PC, or want to learn how to set up your files for any professional output method, I can teach you how to accomplish your goals.
If you want to learn how to improve your skills on the Mac or PC, I can help. I use both operating systems in my work and have experience teaching college and high school age students both platforms. If you don't know what the word navigate means in regards to an OS, I would be happy to help you.
I am a graphic artist and use both PC and Mac platforms, and have done so since 1995. I am currently using a 24" iMac with OS 10.6.8 Lion and use both XP and Window 7 on my PC's. MS Word is a powerful tool for typing letters, business documents, recipes, manuals, flyers, procedures, and just about anything you can think of. Word almost single-handedly created the desktop revolution all by itself. I can teach you how to bring your Word documents to life by making use of all of the formatting tools Word has to offer. I can teach you how; to Track Changes to a shared document, format multiple Columns and Pages, create Headers and Footers for a more professional looking pages and how to insert pictures, graphics, tables and URL links. However, although Word is used by almost everyone with a computer, it is not a professional publication application.
