I learned that to be a good tutor a wide variety of skills is important. I've worked with early readers, with young students learning phonics, and with elementary students needing guidance with reading, writing, grammar and spelling. I'm computer savvy--using Word, and Excel and like to figure out new programs. I've also done work in proofreading, and data processing.
Most of my skills have come through my own learning and education; I believe that one of the ways to give back is to be a tutor. Spelling is an area that I truly enjoy -- I'm able to spot a spelling error pretty quickly! I've been a religious education (faith formation) teacher for 25 years, and through this love have seen children and adults blossom!
I work with the students to enable them to grasp the skills so necessary for learning and becoming great students!
