I passed the CSET subsection three and four because of his thorough teaching. He was very prepared, and he gave me the appropriate tools to succeed. He knows the structure of the test. He explains the concepts clearly and concisely. He was one of the best teachers that I have ever encountered.

I am a student of Doug, and I am very satisfied with the improvement I have made in my writing and English in general. In my SAT prep class, I used to receive 9 and 10s on my essays. Ever since I started class with Doug, my scores have been a consistent 12. I like the unique way he approaches writing and the vivid and well-written examples he chooses to show me. I find I learn something new every week, and after every new session I have a new challenge to tackle.
Cons: Douglas likes to talk on and on, so class tends to be longer than originally planned. However, this does expand the student's wealth of knowledge, so it may actually not be a bad thing.
I suggest that for the first class, the student should bring some samples of his/her writing to Doug so that he knows where to start.
Hire Douglas for your English tutor. You will not regret it.

Douglas has been tutoring me ESL for a couple months, he was very knowledge of the language including the origins, speaking patterns, etc. The material, "American Accent Training", he selected for me was very helpful in correcting my pronunciation and intonation. He was very critical with any of my pronunciation mistakes, small or big, which is very good since I can learn in an error intolerated environment.

I feel very lucky to find Douglas as my English tutor. My English, while beyond the ESL level, is not as good as native English speakers. As a result it was difficult to find a tutor that met my level. Because Douglas was previously an Editor, he is really good at helping me improve my written English.
Douglas is also a good listener and he catches my errors and corrects me when I make any mistake in my spoken English. As a result I’m more confident and comfortable engaging in conversations with native English speakers, not only on work related matters, but also on other random topics.

When I was looking for a Latin tutor, I came across only a few Latin teachers who were qualified to teach this subject. I was happy to find Douglas for my daughter who studied Latin in her previous school in London and wanted to continue learning in America.
Douglas is very helpful in terms of explaining to me and my daughter his lesson plans. He is always on time and well prepared for his lessons. He started tutoring my daughter with confidence and with in depth knowledge of the subject. Douglas definitely has a quality of a great teacher whose teaching style seems to convince every student, even my teenage daughter and keep her engaged and interested in Latin which is not an easy task. My daughter is happy to continue her lessons with him and, hopefully with Douglas' help, bring her knowledge of Latin to a high standard.
