I was born and raised in San Francisco. Since the young age of 12, I have been involved in tutoring of some sort. I was involved in the Peer Tutoring program at my middle school, and learned some lifelong tips that I have applied to all forms of teaching since. While in high school, I shadowed a well-known ESL teacher at City College and taught ESL classes to Spanish-speaking immigrants in the Mission. I studied Hebrew and Spanish for four years in high school, and spent two summers in an immersion program in Spain. After high school, I moved to Israel where I took intensive Hebrew classes and spent the next three years living there. I also trained soldiers in the classroom and in the field while serving in the Israeli Defense Forces.
I returned to the US to attend Vanderbilt Univ for my BA in Biology. I taught 6th grade Hebrew for one year and nannied for an Israeli family for two years during college. I then moved to Brazil, where I learned Brazilian Portuguese. While there, I did English tutoring one-on-one and translated scientific texts from Portuguese to English. I spent the last half year backpacking throughout Latin America where I spoke only Spanish.
While I have the most experience with teaching languages, I also enjoy tutoring in elementary school math, English, and sciences. I have experience working with children, teenagers, and adults. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask!
