Hello Students and Parents,
A little bit about myself: I was born and raised just outside of Boston and went to college in Burlington, Vermont. I love being outdoors and a have strong connection with music. It is always a pleasure to incorporate teaching with the other passions in my life. I graduated with a 3.15 GPA, including making the Dean’s List in the Spring '12, Fall '12, and Spring '13 I hold a Professional Educators’ License issued by the State of Vermont and have been designated as a Highly Qualified Teacher in Elementary Education under No Child Left Behind.
During student teaching, I grew to understand the joy of enlightening young minds. Every student is different and thus requires a personalized style of teaching. I thoroughly enjoy finding what works for each individual student.
I am a passionate educator with a focus on growing students into people. There is no subject too scary with the right teacher! Making an existential connection to the subject matter is paramount to student success and happiness.
As part of my undergraduate program, I tutored a 6th grader with special needs in Literacy, Organization and Study Skills. I also completed hands-on teaching internships within multi-age 1st /2nd grade classroom, full-day preschool classroom, multi-age 3rd/4th grade classroom, and K-5 elementary after-school program. These totaled approximately +1200 hours of hands-on internships with children and families from diverse cultural, economic, and social backgrounds. I have worked with children as a camp counselor, after-school teacher, baby sitter, swim instructor, wrestling coach, as well as my work in the classroom.
I enjoy multi-subject integration and finding new ways to teach and explore content areas. To pull all of my experience and strengths together, I engage with students through their interests and inquiries.
