Greetings! I am a graduate of the University of California, Davis Biochemistry and Molecular Biology doctoral program. I taught both undergraduate and graduate courses at UC Davis as a teacher’s assistant for eight quarters – approximately two years – including introductory chemistry and biology classes and upper division biochemistry. My research has been published the journals Biochemistry and Current Protocols in Chemical Biology and I am a member of the Phi Sigma Biological Sciences Honors Society, Gamma Delta chapter.
I specialize in biology, particularly molecular biology and biochemistry. I have spent most of my professional and academic careers working in life science laboratories, teaching or studying. I also have an advanced understanding of chemistry and can tutor for AP Chemistry or introductory college chemistry.
I strive to prepare college-bound students for the rigors of undergraduate life, helping them develop good study habits and introducing them to resources that will aid their learning process.
I am only available over the weekend as I am currently a full-time postdoctoral scholar. That said, I may be open for tutoring sessions between noon or in the early afternoon on weekdays if we can meet at the UCSF Medical Center on Parnassus. I strongly prefer to meet with students in San Francisco (and Daly City). I generally require lessons to be scheduled at least 24 hours ahead of time. Prior to a lesson, please send me a brief overview of what you are studying and/or what you would like to focus on (e.g. nucleosomes, protein structure, glycolysis).
