My interest in languages started when I was young. My mother is from Mexico and I grew up speaking Spanish and English in San Francisco. While staying with relatives in Mexico, I learned all about Mexican culture. I have both a Master of Public Administration degree and a B.A. Degree in Spanish, Cum Laude Honors. As an undergraduate student, I spent a year studying Spanish at the Universidad Complutense in Madrid, Spain. In addition, I studied Spanish, art and dance for three months in Guadalajara, Mexico.
I have experience in tutoring high school students and adults. I have worked at the Council of Europe (a human rights organization) in Strasbourg, France, where I used French and translated Spanish. I also studied French for a year at the University of Strasbourg, including performing plays in French. Before that I worked for two years at a United Nations agency in Rome, Italy where I used Italian and Spanish.
Now I enjoy returning often to visit Mexico and Europe. I have always had a passion for languages and for teaching languages through conversation, comprehension, reading, listening and speaking. I can help you develop and improve your language skills for vacation trips, business travel or school. You will learn how to expertly communicate in another language – whether in Spanish, French, Italian or English.
