Hello students and parents,
My name is Zaina, I come from a Middle Eastern family. I lived most of my life in Jordan and the Gulf countries. I hold bachelor degree in Financial Economics.
I received most of my education in English but Arabic is my first language. I have been working as an Assistant Manager in a company located in San Francisco for 16 months. Before that, I worked in Jordan as an Anti Money Laundering Specialist investigating money fraud and preparing reports in Arabic and English to be presented to the related parties. I also worked as Human Resources Projects Coordinator for an investment group preparing training and development courses for investment and educational companies. During this time, I had the honor to work with 41 different nationalities, prepare training courses for employees, school and private students in both English and Arabic.
I currently volunteer to translate articles related to HIV; awareness campaigns that explain the disease and how to best get protected against it. Before that, I volunteered with the United Nations to teach elementary schools children Arabic & Maths. I also volunteered to train public sectors employees on Business related courses.
I am currently working on getting my Masters Degree in Human Resources and working hard towards achieving this goal.
I enjoy doing activities that best describe me, and teaching is one of them; I am giving and easy going person. I believe in education and believe that matching our teaching methods with the kids learning methods will bring the best out of the learning session. I prefer giving the lead of the session to students to help them learn comfortably and willingly. Repetition is a method that I use since the brain has to exercise in order for it to function.
I look at teaching and learning as a science that’s no different than Psychology, and each individual has his/her own learning style.
I enjoy working out and reading very much; Business, Psychology, Economics and Self Development books attract me, but I can read any book if I find it interesting. I am currently reading Blink; a book about the power of thinking, it teaches thinking without thinking !
Thank you for considering all of the above, see you soon :)
