As a math major at Williams College, I gained an in-depth knowledge of advanced mathematics; this allows me to teach basic concepts with a big picture perspective that will excite students about the beauty and importance of math.

Math Philosophy

I believe that it is key to teach students, from a young age, the broad scope of opportunities that a strong mathematical background can provide. Math is omnipresent from airplanes and Ipods to 3-d graphics and medicine. As a young student, it is difficult to see why it is important to know this crazy complex thing called math; my first goal is to create enthusiasm for the subject.

Spanish

I am a native Spanish speaker with exceptional composition and verbal skills, command of grammatical structure, and knowledge of linguistic terminology. I like to teach kids by patiently letting them engage with the subjects, without fear of making mistakes. I like to do vocabulary, reading, and specially writing.

Writing

Writing is one of the hardest challenges for a young student, but one of the most fruitful. I encourage students to see how improving their organization, vocabulary and tone they can express their own ideas clearer. When the student starts seeing the fruits of his labor, writing becomes an exciting opportunity for expression and thought.

English

English is one of my favorite subjects. Learning how to write, think critically and express your ideas is an exciting process I enjoy teaching with patience. I emphasize composition, reading of a variety of texts from fiction to academic to popular, and understanding of the language.

SAT Reading

SAT Reading is a great subject. It demands working on your vocabulary, critical thinking and reading quickness. I like to work the challenge by breaking it down in categories of questions and working carefully in each one.
