I recently relocated to San Francisco from London, UK, where I worked in finance for a number of years. I was educated at the prestigious Charterhouse School in England where I studied Mathematics, Physics, History and Chemistry, receiving straight As in all subjects. Subsequent to this I obtained a degree in Astrophysics at the University of Edinburgh taking a number of courses in Physics and Mathematics. More recently I worked in finance where I obtained my CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) qualification.

I tutored math in London for children up to 16 years and would describe my style as patient and engaging. I recognize that some children take longer to process and understand problems than others and are often not served well by the school classroom system. In addition I pride myself on being very personable for a math tutor and I try to make lessons enjoyable.

Elementary Math

Elementary Mathematics focuses on simple arithmetic to calculate buying, selling and weighing goods, and progresses to include algebra and basic probability problems, statistics and geometry.

At the more advanced levels it can include trigonometry and calculus, to prepare students for post elementary mathematics.

Differential Equations

I studied differential equations for 4 years at Edinburgh University as a core part of my astrophysics degree. I am advanced in both differential equations and integration (the reverse). In addition I have a good understanding of not just the maths, but also the applicable physical context.
