Hello!
My love of literature and the humanities started when I was very young. Throughout my childhood, I would often be scolded by my father for staying up too late reading instead of getting to sleep! I believe this passion for exploring the world through the written word contributed to what my teachers described as a natural talent for writing.
As an undergraduate at the University of California, Berkeley, I further polished my writing and analytical skills by studying philosophy. I am continuing my studies at San Francisco State University- which boasts one of the best master's programs in philosophy in the country- with aspirations to academia.
As a tutor, I would like to share my love of learning through literature, history, and the other humanities; delving into these subjects has enriched my life immeasurably, and I would be honored to help enrich the lives of students in the same way. I would also like to teach clear and concise writing skills, which are useful in many, if not most, professional fields.
I believe teaching requires patience, compassion, observation of individual student's learning styles, and a bit of humor and levity. I want to make the material students are studying come alive with stories, word games, and other learning devices.
Best of luck in your search and studies!
