Hi there!

Thank you for clicking on my page. My name is Britt and I would love to be your ESL tutor.

I currently teach at a language school in San Francisco as an ESL teacher. I love my job helping students of all ages improve their English skills. I teach everything from Business English to English for Beginners, TOEFL exam prep classes, and Societal and Cultural English. I have taught all levels of English language learners from beginner to advanced in a variety of settings, large group classrooms to one-on-one tutoring. I have also been a reading tutor for Spanish students learning English in elementary schools. I teach Reading, Reading Comprehension, Speaking, Writing, Listening, Idioms, Slang, Business English, Cultural English, and TOEFL prep. Prior to teaching ESL I worked in the fashion production industry as a business professional for 5 years.

I pride myself in giving my students a unique and personal tutoring experience. I do that by making sure I understand the different goals of each of my students. Maybe you want to improve your pronunciation, expand your vocabulary, learn how to write better emails, or comprehend the books you read in English. I will create a personalized tutoring plan for each student or group of students according to their learning style and what goals they want to meet learning English. I also want to make learning English as fun as possible! My methods will vary per student or group of students but each lesson will be fun and challenging.

I have worked alongside school-age and high school students as a reading tutor for over two years. Most of my students are native Spanish speakers who have learned English as a second language and need assistance with reading in English.
I like to focus on reading comprehension, inference, vowel and consonant pronunciation, and vocabulary searches.
