Hello!
My name is Priscilla, and I'm excited to get to work with you!
I graduated from Bates College (in Lewiston, ME) in May 2012 with a B.A., majoring in Psychology and minoring in Spanish and Women and Gender Studies. During my time at Bates I was a tutor at an after school program in the community where I worked primarily with elementary and middle school ESL students in most subjects. I also facilitated a girls group at this community center and worked as a camp counselor for 5 years. As you can see I have a lot of experience with kids, and I love working with them.
I have the most expertise in Language Arts and Spanish, and I would like to work with elementary and middle school aged students. I am currently pursuing a degree in Occupational Therapy, and I am interested in working with students with learning disabilities as a stepping stone towards a career as an Occupational Therapist. I am willing to be an aide to the student during the school day in his or her classes. I am an exceptional listener, and always try to be flexible and creative to determine the method of teaching and studying that works best for each unique student. I aim to establish a relationship of trust and give-and-take between my students and me.
I look forward to hearing from you!
