Michael is a creative and dynamic tutor. He specializes in foreign language, but is highly capable across the spectrum of subject matter. (In high school, he was a member of a nationally ranked Science Bowl team.)
Michael is a professional musician. Drawing on nearly three decades' experience at the piano, he plays both collaboratively and solo, and works as a vocal coach, conductor, and composer. He is an excellent sight-reader and improviser.
Michael holds both Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Linguistics from Harvard University and has studied a number of modern and classical languages including the following: Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, French, German, Russian, Mandarin, Japanese, Korean, Cantonese, Telegu, Swahili, Afrikaans, Old English, Latin, Classical Chinese, and Classical Japanese. This knowledge is put to use in his work as translator, tutor, and diction coach.
Michael also has over two decades of experience in IT, helping people get the most out of the technologies available to them. He applies his IT knowledge to the musical sphere in using composition and sequencing software to produce film scores, transcriptions, and recordings.
