My name is Ryan B., and I deal in that strange fantasy realm of literature and the analytical essay. I am a graduate of the MFA Writing program at California College of the Arts. And I am here to help push you through your writing and reading assignments. I have taught for the last year in the literary arts department at Oakland School of the Arts at the high school level. In addition to helping any student with crafting their own ideas and helping to get them down on paper in ways that read clearly and directly, I also have experience in college admissions essays and creative projects: poetry chapbook competitions, short stories, novels, etc.
And for any student who has been struggling with English as a second language, I have almost a years experience of teaching ESL to language learners as young a five years old in Seoul at Kids College Gangseo.
I am here to make your writing lives easier and hopefully more fun as a result. I am free M-F 10-4. I have a car and can easily commute. I charge 50/hour, but I will go down to 35/hour if I don't have to leave oakland. I can tutor English and beginners reading comprehension to students as young as 5, and SAT Reading and Writing as well as argumentative and expository essaying to high school students and higher.
