Hi! I can tutor you in the subjects of general and molecular biology as well as genetics. I have a master's degree in biology and have been doing oncology and vaccine research in the Pharma./Biotech field for over ten years. I have taught undergraduate labs and tutored individual students as necessary. I take a straightforward, practical approach.
I am very patient because of an experience I had in my first biology lab class. The TA made everyone seem stupid if they asked a question and/or if they did not understand the explanation right away. That was the most unproductive approach possible. I have the desire to understand exactly what a student’s question is and the ability explain complex concepts in a simple manner. Having a lot of practical experience allows me to explain some concepts that seem abstract in a context that is easier to understand, which will give you confidence!
Sample topics are cell cycle, replication, PCR, transposons, Mendellian and non Mendellian genetics.
