A life-long writer and lover of languages, teaching has proven to be an incredibly rewarding process for both myself and my students.
I am currently a graduate student at San Francisco State University and UC Berkeley. I have acted as both a Teaching Assistant to upper division literature students, and as a lecturer of my own class for lower division literature students. I received my B.A. in English and French literature, studying in France prior to graduation as well as returning to live and work there after completing my degree.
In addition to teaching college courses, I have been a tutor of both French and English, working with students and individuals of varying ages and levels of experience. For example, I have tutored high school students in French as well as French children living in the States who hope to continue learning their native language.
I have also acted as the primary English and Language Arts tutor for Middle School-aged Homeschool students, some of whom had reading and writing dyslexia. I've proven to be very successful in not only simply boosting test scores, but in helping to foster a genuine enjoyment of reading and writing. I encourage students to pick subjects or prompts that interest them.
I love helping others learn and attain goals and am highly experienced in working with younger children as well as college and adult aged learners. I always learn something in the process too! I'm passionate about all the subjects I teach, and there is no comparison what can be gained by working with someone one on one.
