I have taught special education in public schools for nine years, working with students with various disabilities, including AD/HD, autism, emotional disorders, and dyslexia. I have taught pre-K through 5th grade. I specialize in early literacy for very young students learning basic phonics and decoding skills and older students who continue to struggle with reading. I have a Tier 2 Instruction Specialist Credential from the University of San Francisco and a Multiple Subjects credential from the New College of California, and am certified as "Highly Qualified" according to the NCLB act.
I approach my instruction based on the needs, strengths, and learning styles of my students with compassion and humor.
I am 49 years old, and the mother of a high school senior. I live in San Francisco and would be willing to work with your special needs child at your home.
Thanks!
