I am a recent graduate from San Francisco State University where I completed a double major in creative writing and French. For my creative writing degree, I specialized in short fiction but I am also well-acquainted with other genres of writing including expository writing. I have a wide knowledge in literature, especially French and American literature. Aside from studying French language in the United States for 7 years, I studied abroad in Paris, France for 2 years (from August 2008-July 2010). I attended the universities Paris 10 and Paris 8 (Nanterre and Saint-Denis Université) where I studied French as a Foreign Language and then advanced on to French literature classes.
I have earned much on my tutoring and teaching experience in Paris. From the fall of 2008 to the spring of 2009, I worked as an English teaching assistant at a French high school where I taught conversational English. The second year I spent abroad, I gave English and French grammar tutoring lessons to students from 7-50 years of age. Since January 2011, I have been working once again as a tutor. I work one-on-one with students who have a wide range of learning disabilities from autism to ADHD. We implement a variety of programs specific to the student's learning concerns ranging from phonemic awareness to visualizing images and words related to reading and writing. I also work with students who are preparing for the written examination of the SAT as well as with students with difficulties related to history.
