My name is Ben. I am currently a graduate student at Humboldt State University in our environmental social science Master's program. I am back in the bay area for at least the summer and possibly beyond, as I may transfer to a local institution (SFSU) or a teacher credentialing program. I have strong experience in research and persuasive writing that aims to be free of grammatical mistakes. Having to use statistics in a social science program, my math skills have been fine tuned and kept in shape. In addition, I am fluent in conversational Spanish, especially after having lived and studied in Spain. While I may be lacking in recent formal tutoring experience, my recent studies in graduate school have been quite useful in that regard. Students in my program at HSU are encouraged and required to lead seminar discussions and to help each other learn and understand the material covered, both in and out of class. With a goal of becoming a high school teacher in the future, I am scheduled to take the CBEST on June 11th, and have been cleared, finger-printed and passed a TB test to volunteer in the San Francisco Unified School district through SF School Volunteers. I have an open schedule for tutoring, as well as patience, understanding and intuition that is useful in an educational environment. I look forward to working with students in the bay area in a variety of subjects and hope to hear from you soon. Thanks for your time and take care.
Sincerely,
Ben
