I am a patient, kind and personable educator who has had twenty years of experience in the classroom, teaching terrific students. Additionally, I've taught several years in a one-to-one setting. We've tackled everything from all types of writing and revision, to grammar, vocabulary, spelling, and so much rich content in between! I've taught both mainstream English and ESL students, as well as beginning readers. My creative, interactive curriculum is both enjoyable and, invariably, yields successful results! Similarly, I am experienced at assisting students prepare for the SSAT and SAT. Each of my students feels quite confident entering their tests! For me, the most satisfying aspect of my job is watching a student grasp a concept wherein there was little, previous understanding. I feel privileged to be part of my student's learning process!
I hold my B.A. in English, my M.A. in Counseling Psychology, and three education credentials: English Teaching Credential, Pupil Personnel Services Credential (Student Counseling) and Cross-Cultural Language and Development Credential (ESL). I work with students from first grade through adult. In addition to teaching English, I am happy to help my students work through the process of creating high school personal statements and college entrance essays, which truly reflect who they are!
