I have a Masters of Arts degree in English Composition and a post secondary reading certificate from San Francisco State University, where I also received a multiple subjects teaching credential and studied theatre, film and multi-media as an undergraduate. I have taught all levels of high school English for over twenty years. I have also taught college English and elementary school. I have tutored students in a variety of subjects including; composition, reading, SAT preparation--math, verbal and writing, and study skills. I have taught also Advanced Placement English Literature and Composition as well as AP Language and Composition. I've helped students prepare their college personal statements. I've also run a school tutoring center as an adjunct to a high school's honor society. I have also taught theatre workshops. I've supplemented my degree with additional courses in literature, drama, writing, psychology and music. My teaching style can best be described as tailored to each student's needs and learning modalities.
