I am a singer/actor with extensive performing experience all over the Bay Area. For the last several years in addition to performing, I have been directing and working as an Acting Coach for Singers. I work with musical theatre, cabaret and opera singers on stage presence and acting in a musical context: How to smoothly integrate the craft of acting into the art of singing to touch, move and inspire an audience as a singing actor--and create believable characters.
I teach musical theatre acting and/or auditioning for the musical theatre: How to choose a piece, how to target your audition--what an audition is and what it is not--how to edit songs, how to effectively work with an accompanist, and audition etiquette.
I also can teach theatre history--specifically musical theatre, and I work with actors on monologue preparation or coach an actor preparing roles: all levels, beginner to professional. My sessions are great fun, supportive and informative, and I work with all levels--beginner to professional.
NATS (National Association of Teachers of Singing), Theatre Bay Area and numerous theatre companies have sponsored my audition workshops. I am now available for private coaching.
In addition to theatre, I have great interest and enthusiasm for literacy and vocabulary. We will work on your vocabulary skills and have fun pronouncing and exploring words, their meaning and usage. It's a perfect way for Non-native english speakers to gain confidence and expand their English communication skills.
Let's talk about possibilities!
