I find tutoring to be beneficial for all involved – learning and practice is essential in mastering a new language and maintaining it too. I was partly raised in Chile, South America for some of elementary, middle and high school and studied subjects immersed in the Spanish Language. I even took some classes in French taught in Spanish. I graduated high school in Santiago, Chile from an accredited American school and also studied Spanish in College here in the US. I obtained an AA in Language Arts / Spanish (2010) and tutored Spanish for two years (employed by the college) while working towards my own degree and enjoyed helping others learn the language too. I still use Spanish in my daily life and am ready to start a conversation instantaneously when warranted or simply because I can relate to others in a more personal way. I like to play learning games and think oral practice is a very effective way to learn a new subject. I like to incorporate all styles of learning when tutoring such as kinesthetic, auditory, and visual or combinations. Learning a language is work and takes determination, patience and focus but it is also rewarding and should be fun too.
