I tutor students in grades K through 5th in language arts, math, social studies, and health, and teach English as a Foreign Language to adults. Years ago I developed and led an art class for preschoolers called "Adventures in Art," and more recently have provided healthcare staff and community education. I have a bachelor of arts degree in English from the University of Michigan and a master's degree in social work from The Catholic University of America. In addition, I am certified with the National Tutoring Association. My teaching philosophy is based on Stephen Krashen's work, which suggests learning is most effective when students are content and free of anxiety. Therefore, I strive to incorporate smiles and laughter in every lesson.
