I relate well to learners of all ages and needs. I have 30 successful years of teaching experience. I am fully credentialed with an additional Certification in Gifted Education. Vocabulary

If I am your tutor, you will develop serious "vocabulary muscle." Students I tutor will benefit greatly from my English teaching experience working with a broad range of students-from those taking high school AP classes to elementary students in hands on classes.

Grammar

My students will gain a thorough grasp of the ins and outs of grammar rules, parts of speech, as well as the correct way to punctuate a piece of writing. I have extensive experience tutoring and teaching students the essentials of grammar in a way that is enjoyable and effective.

French

I have taught first and second year French to middle school and high school students for over 10 years. I have an excellent accent and will make the study of French fun for my students.

Reading

I have over 30 years of teaching and tutoring experience to help you or your student greatly improve his or her reading comprehension. I work carefully with my students to help them gain the skill and confidence necessary to become efficient and thoughtful readers.

Writing

With 30+ years of teaching English to middle schoolers and high schoolers, I am highly qualified to coach you with your writing, editing and proofreading needs. I have 2 years' experience working with students on AP assignments and SAT preparation as well.

English

I have taught English to middle schoolers and high schoolers in the Scripps Ranch, Carmel Valley, and University City areas of San Diego for many years. I have worked with AP curriculum and GIFTED curriculum. My students gain excellent insights into literature and become outstanding writers.

Proofreading

As a veteran English teacher and tutor, I have extensive experience with proofreading everything from AP essays to persuasive and expository pieces for high schoolers and middle schoolers. My skills are solid enough to help guide you with all your editing and proofreading needs from a thesis paper to a simple five paragraph essay. You will find working with me as your tutor a worthwhile and pleasant experience.

SAT Reading

As a private tutor, I have been helping high schoolers prepare for the Critical Reading and Vocabulary sections of the SAT for the past two years. My students gain great confidence as well as high scores when they prepare with me!

SAT Writing

You CAN ace the writing section of the SAT test! Together we will practice effective strategies for organizing your SAT essay. I will show you methods that you can use to make your writing vivid and thoughtful. We will also review vocabulary and grammatical points while practicing with relevant sample topics. I have 30 years experience teaching essay writing to middle schoolers and high schoolers. I can help you, no matter what your learning style or writing experience.

ACT English

As a private tutor, I have been helping high schoolers prepare for the ACT for the past two years. My students gain great confidence as well as high scores when they prepare with me!
