Dynamic Spanish Expert with MA and Experience Abroad

Hello! My name is Alayne and I am here to help you meet your Spanish and English language goals. My passion for languages began with my junior year abroad in Italy, and since that time I have been seeking opportunities to teach languages as well as build my own skills.

I have more than seven years of experience as a language instructor and I have worked with both adults and children. My professional background includes teaching in institutes in Chile, Peru, Honduras, and Thailand, as well as teaching Spanish 101-102 for several years at SDSU and ESL at UCSD. I have a Masters degree in Spanish as well as a professional certificate in Teaching English as a Second or Other Language (TESOL). Additionally, I am currently completing a professional certificate from UCSD Extension in Spanish/English translation, as I work as a contract translator on a regular basis as well.

I am a patient and flexible instructor/tutor who will work with you to design a plan of study that meets your needs. As a native English speaker who now speaks Spanish fluently, I understand what a struggle it can be to learn a foreign language, and I draw from my own experiences to make your learning experience easier.
