During my undergraduate education, I was given the opportunity to tutor students as well as help teach ALEKs math classes. I learned how to better utilize various teaching methods to best fit each student’s needs as well as keeping them focused on their class goals throughout the school semester. Each student was able to pick what style of learning best fits them. Since tutoring ALEKs, I began tutoring students one-on-one for various math subjects such as Trigonometry, Precalculus, Calculus and other similar subjects.
I am a recent college graduate in Mathematics who has tutored students from the ages of 10 to 30 years old. I tutor my students as individuals and try to help improve their understanding of their class by reviewing course material, homework, and tests. After I know where their understanding of the course material stands, I begin by working through math problems together and quiz them over the material we covered that day. In all of my one-on-one sessions so far, my students have seen improvement in their class grades as well as in their understanding of their math subjects (some even started to enjoy math too!).
