Hi -

I recently graduated summa cum laude from UCSD with a B.S. in Biology and a GPA of 3.97/4.0, which ranks top 2% of all undergraduate students. I tutor all levels of math, biology, and Mandarin Chinese (I'm a native speaker).

I have tutored for over 700 hours and worked with more than 150 students from various backgrounds, age ranging 14-60. I worked as a tutor in a community college for 2 years and as a teaching assistant at UCSD while studying there. In addition, I have been privately tutoring for the last five years. To further improve my tutoring skills, I have completed a 60-hour tutor training certification course. My excellence as a tutor earned me the prestigious scholarship awarded by Association of Colleges for Tutoring and Learning Assistance. I was one of two winners out of all the tutors in southern California!

Chinese

My first language is Chinese as I was born and raised in China. I lived in China until graduating from high school at the age of 18. I was top 3% in all my Chinese classes throughout middle school and high school. I have tutored Chinese as a second language in the U.S. for five years. As I recently graduated from UCSD, my English is also fluent. I love teaching my native language and culture to others!

Biostatistics

I completed BIEB 100 Biostatistics at UCSD and earned an A+. I was asked by the professor to TA for the class the following year. Being a teaching assistant allowed me to gain further understanding and trained me to better explain the concepts. Statistics can be hard for Biology students.
