I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Education from Cal Poly State University, San Luis Obispo. I have two California teaching credentials, in Special Education and Multiple Subject. Study Skills

I hold a Multiple-Subject Credential for grades K-8. I have taught students with numerous disabilities and have assisted them in study skills and organization. Students need to be taught skills that can directly assist them in the world around them. This can include lists, agendas and different notes.

Special Needs

I hold a Multiple-Subject Credential for grades K-8 and Special Education Credential for students from K-12. I understand that each of the students are different and that they needed to be treated that way. The first step is to learn how the students learn and improve on that. It is also important that the students are learning that it is ok for them to ask questions and that it is ok to get help.

ADD/ADHD

I have worked with many students in a wide range of ages with ADD/ADHD. Redirecting them is key in their success. This must be done with patience and understanding. I am able to adjust lessons and tutoring sessions to accommodate to their needs. In addition, I can implement requirements of Section 504 or IEPs upon request.



Aspergers

I currently hold an Austim/ Aspergers Certificate and have been trained in how to work with Asperger's students and others with Autism Spectrum disorders. I have had many Asperger's and autistic students in my classroom. The were all successful and felt safe in my classroom environment.

I have worked with Autism in the past in my classrooms.
