I have been teaching in the classroom for five years, and I have taught in both public and charter schools. I have taught in a fourth, fifth, and sixth grade classroom and I have also tutored every grade level from 1st-high school. Not only will I help students succeed, but also inspire them to discover their strengths and self-confidence. The gains I have seen when working with my students in both their academic and personal lives is truly priceless! During the first tutoring session I will test students to see what skills are an area of focus. Based on these assessments and and what the student is looking for, I will develop a personalized program to address those needs. I am familiar with designing and implementing my own challenging and fun curriculum.
I have a bachelor's degree in education from Arizona State University, and I am considered a highly qualified state certified teacher. I am bilingual; I speak, read, and write in Spanish. I am familiar with designing my own curriculum and preparing students for standardized testing. I truly enjoy working one on one with students and helping them succeed.
