My name is David P. I am currently working on a Master's degree at San Diego State University in Philosophy. My interests in Philosophy are wide, but I am currently working on questions of how we come to acquire knowledge about ourselves and our environments. To accomplish this, I am incorporating a great deal of Cognitive Science into my research so that all the claims I make are firmly grounded in peer-reviewed, scientific research.
I completed my undergraduate, Cum Laude, at California State University of Fullerton, also in Philosophy with a minor in Psychology. As is the case at present, I maintained very wide interests even then. Apart from academics, I am also an athlete in my spare time (although these days I do it for pure enjoyment rather than rigorous competition). Over the years I have played football, rugby, soccer, track, golf, running, and cycling. I still very much enjoy these sports but, as I'm sure you know, or at least will surely figure out soon, the older you get the less time you find you have for these enjoyable activities; I try to fit them in nonetheless.
Personally, I am very easy to get along with as I have a great sense of humor and an ability to convey difficult material in a relatively straightforward, simple manner to understand. I enjoy learning and I enjoy teaching material to students who also enjoy learning. Yet, my strengths lie primarily in making education fun and entertaining so that the student actually wants to learn the material, rather than trying to force feed what is otherwise already very difficult to understand.
I encourage you to drop me a line and discuss your needs and concerns more depth.
