Hello! I am a graduate student at Scripps Institution of Oceanography finishing a master's degree in Earth Science. I am an experienced teaching assistant, with experience in the following undergraduate level classes:
Earth Science (Introduction to Geology and Environmental Science)
Mineralogy (optical and specimen)
Environmental Challenges and Solutions
I am comfortable with tutoring most geology undergraduate coursework (excluding geophysics and paleobiology.) I am specifically experienced with coursework at the University of California, San Diego. However, I am able to tutor classes from other colleges/schools as well, provided I am supplied with the name of the book and the syllabus.
In addition to geology, I am comfortable with high school level math (and college level, I just prefer to tutor the basics.)
I strongly believe students learn in various ways, and not one specific way works with everybody. I have always tried to make my lessons exciting, intellectually stimulating, and fun.
