My name is Julian and I am a pre-med student at UCSD. I was born in Germany and lived there for 8 years before moving to California, and I still speak the language every day and visit my family in Germany about once a year. I also took 3 German classes in college in order to better understand how to teach the language to others. I really enjoy teaching others to speak German as it is not a common language in California like Spanish for instance, and I feel that more people should be given the chance to learn it (I know that a lot of high schools do not offer it).
Depending on the student's preferences, lessons can be taught in a systematic style with writing verb conjugations and translating sentences using correct grammar, etc., or a complete submergence in which we will simply engage in German conversation the entire time, or a mixture of these styles. I am flexible, although I will have a certain style prepared if the student does not have a preferred method. Thank you for your consideration!
