Mathematics, Chemistry, and Science take effort to master but you should know that you can do them. The thought processes may be different than what you are used to, but once you become familiar with them, you can prosper in these subjects. I have worked with learners from a wide range of backgrounds. While I cannot say there won't be hard work and effort involved on your part, you can learn, and even enjoy, these subjects.

I worked as a research scientist in applying chemistry and mathematics to industrial problems. My work resulted patents. Besides scientific work, I have teaching and tutoring experience. I instructed and tutored in cram schools, colleges and overseas in Japan for about six years. I've worked with people from 3rd grade to retired adults and everyone in between. Some of the institutions I’ve worked at include JEI (a cram school focusing on Math and English), International Masters Academy (Britannica), and Washington State community colleges.

I monitor my student’s work and explanations in order to understand the underlying reasoning applied by the student when solving questions. I work at the current level of the student, to correct any misconceptions, and to fill in gaps of knowledge. My goal is not for the student to merely repeat a particular calculation but to become a problem solver. I ask questions that direct the student to understand how to the answer questions on their own while providing direction if needed.

I also have experience and training in ESL and hold a TESL/TEFL certificate from the Washington State Academy of Languages.

Never give up. You can succeed.

Algebra 1

Algebra is fun and you can learn to enjoy the puzzles of algebra. I personally like algebra. Besides being interesting, algebra is also very useful in your daily life (if you enjoy Sudoku you can enjoy Algebra; Sudoku requires studying pattern mostly with numbers, and algebra requires studying the patterns with equations). If you start a business, you will likely be using the skills of algebra to determine if you can make money and how much a product or service will cost. You can figure out your...

Algebra 2

Algebra 2 is next level of algebra. Algebra itself is very useful in life. Algebra forms the foundation of later mathematics courses such as pre-calculus and calculus. For many, math is hard work and requires patience. Tutoring can't take away the hard work you may need to do, but tutoring can guide your thought processes and help you solve the problems more quickly and accurately.

I'll work with you at your current level. Then, you'll grow beyond the basics to being a problem solver in...

Chemistry

Chemistry can be challenging but with effort, you can:

• succeed in chemistry

• understand the material

• solve the chemical problems

• apply the concepts properly to arrive at a legitimate solution

When you apply the ideas we go over in chemistry, and when you practice them after the tutoring sessions, you will excel when others continue to struggle. Chemistry takes time to master, but if you do the work and follow through on the tutoring sessions, you will improve....

Differential Equations

I graduated from two universities and have three science and engineering degrees which use math extensively. In addition, I have a math minor going beyond differential equations. I've applied mathematics including the use of differential equations to real world scientific problems in industry. I've passed all of the math classes in all three scientific degrees (B.S., B.S., M.S.), and used differential equations in modelling fibers as part of my professional career as an R&D scientist.

####
Linear Algebra

I graduated from Universities and have three science and engineering degrees which use math (including linear algebra) extensively. In addition, I have applied linear algebra to real world scientific problems in industry. I've passed linear algebra classes, and used linear algebra in research and development as part of my professional career as an R&D scientist.

Organic Chemistry

I graduated from two universities and have three science and engineering degrees which use chemistry and math extensively. In addition, I have applied chemistry to real world scientific problems in industry by developing patented chemical technologies (search for my name at the United States Patent Office). I've passed all of the chemistry classes for a chemistry major, and used chemistry in research and development as part of my professional career as an R&D scientist.
