Hello!
My name is Jenny, and I hope I can be of help to you and/or your child in an area you feel needs support. I am a recent graduate of UCSD's Graduate Education Studies Program (September 2011) from which I received a Master of Education degree and Preliminary Teaching Credential in Multiple Subjects. I also hold a BA in Psychology from the same institution. Being a recent graduate, I am equipped with up-to-date research-based teaching practices and am knowledgeable in the current California and National standards. I have student taught in grades Kinder, 2nd, 4th, and 5th, and have volunteered as a Reading Tutor and Reader for grades K-3 within the San Diego Unified School District. I have experience substitute teaching all grade levels between pre-k through 8th grade and have also worked in Critical Skills and Special Day classrooms, so have the patience and genuine desire to work with children of all ages and backgrounds.
My specialties in teaching have been modifying lessons in all core subject areas to meet the needs of each child in the classroom and challenging students to think outside the box. Therefore, you can be rest assured that I will adapt lessons that will engage your child and meet his/her needs and interests while challenging your child in the realm of accessibility. I have also been a Teaching Assistant for eight years at an after-school enrichment program where I worked one-on-one with students from pre-k through high school, so I understand what it takes to keep students motivated and on task.
I hope to work with you soon and help you and/or your child reach the success that you wish to reach!
Respectfully,
Jenny N.
