I am a senior at San Diego State University working toward a bachelor's degree in Applied Mathematics. For my math classes, I have averaged a 3.8. As a member of Math Club, I regularly tutor Calculus 1 students at my University. I do not see math as difficult and find enjoyment in helping others understand the subject better. I enjoyed learning pre-algebra, algebra, geometry, and trigonometry, and I would love to teach others these subjects as well.
I believe in "back to the basics" when it comes to learning math. This is where I begin to assess the student's confusion. From here, it simply comes down to teaching an underlying concept. Teaching the fundamentals before tackling the problems is how I tutor. Math has always come to me very easily and I would like to share my techniques with others.
