Educated in Minsk, Belarus, I have lived in the US for the past 12 years. I hold a Master’s Degree in Physics and hold a California Single Subject Credential in math. During my extensive teaching experience abroad I taught different levels of math for both college bound students and students challenged by math including Pre-algebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Pre-Calculus and Calculus. I received my teaching credentials in 2010 and have taught as a math teacher in the Newport Mesa school district as well as private math tutoring for students ranging from elementary school level to college level. I am proficient in Algebra, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Probability & Statistics, and more.
I am very passionate about educating students by teaching them mathematics. I value the mastery and fluency of computational techniques and I stress the understanding of the conceptual underpinning and examination of the reasonableness of results. It is my conviction that mathematics is not an isolated discipline, but a tool necessary to understand many other fields to make informed decisions in an increasingly technological world. I believe that an understanding of math is one of the primary foundations for many skills needed for successful careers in the twenty-first century and beyond.
